“During my 10 days at The Hatchery I was completely transfixed by the view, watching the tide gradually flow in and out of the estuary, unveiling the ever changing sand banks. Those sand banks are what I wanted to focus on for the three parts of ‘Estuary Views’” Gemma Lessinger

From her pop-up studio at The National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow, Gemma Lessinger presents "Estuary Views Part 1," a tactile exploration of the Camel Estuary's serene beauty.Crafted on a 30cm x 30cm wood board, this piece uses acrylics combined with reclaimed, upcycled materials, such as offcuts of surfboard fibreglass and end of line tea bag paper from a local tea company. This technique echoes the artist's commitment to sustainability and the environment.

The artwork captures the intricate patterns and shifting hues of the estuary, inviting viewers to experience the tranquil interplay of water and famous sand banks of the Estuary.

Framed in a 47cm x 47cm white handcrafted panel frame by a local artisan, this piece seamlessly blends natural inspiration with refined craftsmanship.
