A New Chapter: Hyli, Originals, and My Studio at Agweres

This autumn marks the beginning of a new chapter in my journey as an artist.

From 16th November, I’ll be moving into my new shared studio and gallery space, which is aptly being named ‘Salt & Canvas’ at Unit 11 Agweres, Lanteague – a vibrant creative hub where my work can live and breathe in its truest form. This space will be both a working studio and an intimate gallery: a place where you can view originals in person, talk through commissions, or join me for one-to-one sessions and mentoring.

But perhaps most importantly, I won’t be there alone. I’ll be sharing the mezzanine with a fellow artist Bella Wilhm — something I’ve chosen very deliberately. Working alone in a studio is often necessary, but it can also be solitary. I crave conversation, collaboration, and the spark that comes from bouncing ideas around with another creative soul. For me, this move is as much about connection as it is about space.

Meet the amazing Bella! My new creative co worker!

Also in exciting studio news, from 1st February 2026 I’ll be starting the Porthmeor Programme with St Ives School of Painting, a year-long opportunity to push my practice, explore new directions, and grow as an artist. It feels like the perfect moment to step forward.

And with this new chapter comes clarity. From 1st December, I’ll be retiring my open print shop and homeware collection. Going forward, my focus will be on originals only — one-of-a-kind artworks across a range of scales, from mini pieces and wearable art to large-scale bespoke commissions.

But that doesn’t mean prints disappear entirely. Instead, I’ll be introducing Hyli Editions: ultra-limited capsule collections of 20 hand-embellished prints, released just a few times each year. Like fashion houses release capsule collections, these Editions will dip into my archive and be elevated with hand-painted details, making each one unique.

So why Hyli? In Cornish, the word hyli means saltwater. For me, it’s the perfect thread — connecting everything I do, from my paintings to wearable art, creative experiences, mentoring, and now Editions. Just like saltwater moves through every part of the ocean, Hyli runs through every part of my world: connection, creativity, and storytelling.

This feels like the most aligned chapter yet — one that is true to who I am as an artist and as a person. I can’t wait to welcome you into the new space, to share my work in its most authentic form, and to see where this path leads.
