This piece portrays for me the feeling of diving into the beautiful Cornish sea on a hot summers day. Diving into the lagoon like water, once beneath the surface viewing the multitude of glistening blues. The sandy bottom of the sea bed blurring into the water. The sunlight shining through from above just shining here and there, catching your eye.
There are many many layers of blues hues, layers of sand sweeping across the canvas to build texture. There are also offcuts of fibreglass from surfboard manufacturing incorporated into the piece, enhancing the texture further and re-purposing this non-recyclable waste.
