Press Bio
Gemma Lessinger is a Cornwall-based textural seascape artist whose work captures the movement, memory and calming power of the ocean. Drawing on a 20-year career in the fashion industry, Gemma brings a deep understanding of materials, layering and composition to her practice, creating tactile, sculptural artworks that invite close inspection and emotional connection.
Her paintings are inspired by specific coastal locations and personal beach memories, often incorporating repurposed and reclaimed materials to build depth and movement within the surface. Sustainability sits as a quiet undercurrent throughout her work, woven into both process and storytelling.
Alongside private and commercial commissions, Gemma collaborates with hotels, interior designers and wellbeing-led brands, creating site-responsive artworks that bring a sense of calm, presence and connection to the sea into interior spaces.
