Perranporth Tidal Pool is inspired by Chapel Rock and the tidal pool that forms beside it — one of the most distinctive features along this stretch of North Cornwall coastline. I wanted to capture the way the light changes here as the tide moves, from the sharp turquoise of the pool to the softer, sandier tones around it.
The piece is built with rich, layered texture, so the movement of the water reads not just in colour but in the surface itself — every ridge and ripple is something you can see shift as the light in the room changes throughout the day.
