This piece began with a memory of Holywell Bay’s wild energy — the moment just before the surf unfurls into motion. I wanted to hold that tension: the water rising, frothing, alive with possibility.

I didn’t just paint this wave — I built it. Reclaimed fibreglass off-cuts from a Newquay surfboard shaper became sculpture, giving the wave real dimension and life. When you move around this piece you’ll see it shift and breathe in the light.
