'Ocean Connection IIII' Original Textured Painting by Gemma Lessinger & Sophie Bagnall
'Ocean Connection IIII'
The fourth piece in this collaborative collection of paintings from Gemma & Sophie, this painting shows just how changeable the weather was for the Artists during their week at The Old Lifeboat House in Porthleven. From the warm, slow summer vibes of piece three, to deep dark ominous cloud, wind and rain the next. The swell suddenly starting to build as the storm clouds roll into the harbour.
With Sophie creating base layers of her unique abstract seascape colour palette, then passing the canvas to Gemma to add her textured, repurposed wave and signature paint flicks creating momentum in the water, a unique one off piece was created.
This then spurred the creatives to keep working, creating a collection of 4 paintings during their time together.
With the Artists working in The Old Lifeboat House, they wanted to pay homage to the buildings history so are donating 20% of the profits from each painting to the RNLI to support the incredibly heroic work they do to protect us along our coastlines.
Features:
41cm x 41cm x 4cm canvas
Framed in a white hand made tray frame
Acrylic paint with textured wave being formed from offcuts of fibreglass from a Newquay based surfboard shaper. Upcycling a waste product into waves.
