'Roots of the Forest 1' Original Textured Landscape Painting

This piece, painted as a trio but can be bought as a stand alone piece, is a further study of the root systems and textures beneath the feet whilst walking through the moors. From bark, to moss, to flowing water to silt.

Gemma has used upcycled tea bag paper from Cornish business ‘Cornish Tea & Coffee’ to create the flowing texture in this piece. The end of rolls no longer usable once they get close to the end, Gemma takes them and uses them to build depth and texture in her paintings. She has uses silt and moss to create pattern and earthy marks, highlighting certain points with gold leaf, representing the glistening Autumn sunlight.

Details:

20cm x 20cm x 2cm

Acrylic paint, repurposed paper, found objects and gold leaf on canvas

Framed with hand crafted tray frame with 2mm shadow border - colour can be dark or light wood
