This piece captures that incredible moment just after the sun has dipped below the horizon at Watergate Bay. A wave rolls rhythmically towards the shoreline, sea spray hanging in the air.
In the original painting, the breaking wave was sculpted using offcuts of surfboard fibreglass from a local surfboard maker. Each Collector’s Edition is finished by hand in my studio, adding glistening gold and pink shimmers and subtle texture to the wave, so every piece is tactile, personal and unique.
