'Waves From Waste' Original Textured Painting at Watergate Bay Hotel

£1,500.00

This painting was created in collaboration with fellow Newquay based business ‘Waterhaul’ who work tirelessly to protect our oceans. They collect ghost fishing net from across the Cornish coast and turn it into material which can then be used to make their high quality, elegant sunglasses with a purpose. They are an inspirational business and I was honoured to work with them.

I created this piece using their repurposed ghost net material to build the texture in the painting. I have purposely used the fibrous pieces of net in the ocean water, as a stark reminder that plastics and ghost netting just like this are polluting our beautiful seas.

This piece is portraying Watergate Bay in Cornwall, with sand from the very beach being sprinkled on the shoreline at the last minute, infusing it with the elements of this iconic beach.

60cm x 50cm canvas - Framed - white wood tray frame
