Surfing has always fascinated me, the patience that surfers have after paddling out. Watching and patiently waiting for that perfect wave to roll in. I wanted to capture that sense of calm, anticipation that each surfer was feeling in the line up this day.
I have used grains of sand and finely cut pieces of rope washed up on the shoreline to mix through the paint, allowing me to build the subtle texture of the wave in this piece.
70cm x 50m canvas - framed with a 5cm deep white wood tray frame.
