Welcome - I'm so glad you're here!
After twenty years working in fashion as a retail buyer, I saw first-hand how much perfectly good clothing gets thrown away. That's stayed with me, and painting eventually became my way of doing something different with it - taking a jacket, a shirt, something already sitting in a wardrobe, and turning it into a piece with its own story, inspired by the coastline near where I paint. That's what you're about to learn: not just a technique, but a different way of looking at the clothes you already own.
A quick note on how the lessons are laid out: we'll start with equipment and preparing your garment to get you properly set up, then move step by step into working with colour for your seascape scene, and then the wave technique from there. Take your time with it - there's no deadline, so dip in and out over the summer however suits you.
If you haven't gathered your materials yet: you'll need fabric paint (less than £25 and will last many projects) and a garment to work on - a charity shop find is often perfect, or use something you already own. I also recommend certain brushes for the best technique but you can use ones you already have.

Next up, we need to add your sand tones to the beach, following the same technique as step two. Use the same flat brush as you used for step 2 – rinse it out in your first water pot though before you switch to these lighter tones.
