“Threaded into the Tide” reflects the seamless way water, texture, and memory intertwine. With its layered blues and cresting sea foam, the painting holds the energy of the ocean’s endless cycle — powerful, yet deeply calming.

This piece carries the same ethos as its companions, built from materials with stories of their own. My grandmother’s tablecloth forms the underlayers, a quiet tribute to her belief in my creativity. There is also remnants of an old tshirt woven into the ocean water, if you look closely you can see the hem. The breaking wave rises from surfboard fibreglass, topped with paint mixed with fragments of fishing net and rope found along the Cornish coastline. It is an artwork where the tide itself feels threaded through every layer.

Presented in a white handmade tray frame, “Threaded into the Tide” can be displayed as a striking standalone or alongside Woven by Tide and Spun by the Sea as a connected trio.
