A Summer of Connection

This summer has been one of the most varied, vibrant, and inspiring seasons of my journey as an artist. From the red carpets and glamour of Marbella, to the salt-soaked energy of Rising Tide at Boardmasters, to two full weeks of connection at my ‘Ocean Connection’ exhibition in Porthleven — each experience has been completely different, yet tied together by the same thread: the joy of sharing my passion for upcycling, the ocean, and the power of creativity.

What I’ve loved the most is the people.

From those who used to paint or draw but lost touch with creativity, to holidaymakers wanting to take a piece of the ocean’s calm home with them, to children with wide-eyed curiosity asking how on earth I make textures from jeans, nets, or surfboards — every single conversation has meant something.

As artists, we spend most of our time working quietly in the studio. That solitude is needed — it’s where flow and deep creation happen. But these moments of connection remind me why I do what I do. They fuel me, challenge me, and spark new ideas for how my work can evolve.

So to everyone who stopped to talk with me, viewed my work, asked a question, placed a bid, or took home one of my creations — thank you. Every interaction this summer has added something to my practice and pushed me to think bigger.

Exciting new things are coming, shaped by the conversations and connections of this summer. I can’t wait to share what’s next.
