Introducing Salt & Canvas: A New Artist Studio, Gallery and Creative Space
There’s something special about finding a place that feels like home — where creativity, conversation and community all flow together. That’s exactly what Salt & Canvas is going to be for Bella and I.
A shared artist studio and gallery space founded by Bella Wilhm and myself, Salt & Canvas sits upstairs at Agweres, Lanteague Studios — a creative hub between Newquay & Truro that brings together artists, makers and small independent businesses.
It’s a space built on connection — to creativity, to nature, and to each other.
Here, ideas are shared, stories unfold, and visitors can experience the beauty of the Cornish coastline translated into art, texture and form.
The Space
Salt & Canvas is both a working artist studio and a small gallery, where visitors can view new work in progress, explore finished pieces, and learn more about the creative processes behind them.
My textural ocean-inspired paintings sit alongside Bella’s illustrative, mixed media coastal artwork, creating a tranquil, tactile environment that celebrates the sea and the stories it holds.
Whether you’re commissioning a bespoke piece, looking for a thoughtful gift, or simply wanting to soak up some calm creative energy, Salt & Canvas is a welcoming place to pause, chat and feel inspired.
Opening Hours
Monday: Closed
Tuesday – Friday: Appointment Only
Saturday: 10am – 2pm
Sunday: 10am – 4pm
If you visit during the week and see the “Come in & Explore” sign outside, you’re more than welcome to pop in and say hello. We just want to ensure we are there when you make a special visit, so booking an appointment is the best way to make sure you can explore our work.
Opening Gathering — Saturday 29th November, 4–7pm
To celebrate the opening of Salt & Canvas, we’re hosting a relaxed opening gathering in collaboration with Agweres, on Saturday 29th November from 4–7pm.
Come and explore the new studio, enjoy mulled wine lovingly made by Agweres, and taste some of their incredible wine collection — a perfect chance to discover beautiful bottles to enjoy or gift this Christmas.
It’ll be a warm, creative gathering filled with conversation, connection, and the kind of festive magic that only good company (and good wine) can bring.
