'Mother Ivey's Swimmers Delight' Original Textured Painting

This piece focuses on a rocky section of the shore that is exposed at mid tide, a rock perfect for basking in the sun on after swimming the bay. Feet dangling down letting the waves lap at your toes, this is the perfect spot to gaze out at the bay over towards the Padstow Lifeboat station, letting your worries wash away with the ebbing tide.
As with all Gemma’s pieces, this painting is a textural ode to this beautiful beach, with sand from the very shore helping to build the depth and texture. The wave has been sculpted from repurposed offcuts of fibreglass from a surfboard shaper in Newquay, turning these scraps of surfboard into treasure for Gemma, saving them from ending up on landfill.
