Noirmoutier

Shoreline Memories

Hi Yvan & Susan,

I hope your are having a wonderful Christmas! If you are reading this you have already been given your gift which Cassandra had commissioned for you, so I wanted to share in the below video a little about the piece, its inspiration, and the process in creating it.

It really was a joy to create, to absorb myself in Noirmoutier and it’s incredible shoreline. I have shared a gallery of images which I took during the creation process which I hope you enjoy, showing it’s evolution from base layers to final details.

A work table with a greenish painting or coating in progress, surrounded by painting supplies and frames, with an open doorway leading outside to a green yard.
A canvas with abstract green, turquoise, and white paint splatters and textures, placed on a worktable in an art studio.
A person wearing blue jeans and tan shoes standing in front of a table with a speckled, textured surface covered with teal, turquoise, and bronze-colored paint splatters and streaks.
Close-up of a weathered sculpture surface with green patina, black dirt, and sand.
A tabletop with a textured, uneven surface featuring a large turquoise splash with black and yellowish areas, resembling a painted or stained artwork. The surrounding area shows construction tools, wood, and fabric.
Close-up of a weathered, green surface with rust, black spots, and a white line running across it.

I hope this piece brings the beauty of Noirmoutier into your home. I would love to hear what you think of this piece and if you have any questions at all please just let me know. You can email me via hello@gemmalessinger.com or if you are on Instagram/Facebook you can find me under @gemmalessingerart.

I hope you have a wonderful festive season and Happy New Year to you.

Best Wishes

Gemma
