WAVES OF

WELLBEING

Join Gemma at the beautiful Polstrong Manor in Camborne, Cornwall for a morning of creative upcycling, painting your very own piece of wearable wave art. Gemma will guide you through the process of giving an old item of clothing a new lease of life, transforming it into a piece of wearable art.

A denim jacket is perfect for this session but if you’ve not got a denim jacket? Then you can bring along a hoody, jeans or even a tote bag to experiment on. As long as it’s a light colour we can work with it!

Bring a garment along to the session and using eco-acrylic paint you will paint a shoreline scene onto it, on a back panel, pocket or wherever you fancy!

Then after a warm and nourishing lunch provided by Polstrong Manor (included in ticket price), you will receive an afternoon of Guided Meditation and Journalling with

Charlotte from Keys to Health.

Allow Charlotte to guide you through waves of relaxation to rest the body and mind, exploring ocean breath and a guided visualisation journey to a peaceful beach where all your troubles will wash away...

We will come back to the here and now by exploring some somatic practises to help reconnect with yourself and tune into your inner knowing, before ending with a journalling session to process the day and gain some insight and clarity.

Mats can be provided but if you can bring your own please do. As well as any cosy blanket or socks you may want to get really comfy.

Please wear clothing appropriate for easy movement during class.

For the painting workshop please bring a garment of clothing to work on, ideally a denim jacket - most people have a denim jacket in the wardrobe that can be transformed, but if you don’t you could support a local charity shop, vintage store or purchase one secondhand on a resale site like Vinted. The idea here is to upcycle and re-use something old rather than buy new.

Gemma will be providing all other materials and equipment, including an apron but please do bring/wear clothing that you don’t mind potentially getting some paint on.

Top Tip - Your garment may still be wet when leaving the venue, so it might be a good idea to bring along a coat hanger or something you can lay the jacket on in your car for easy transfer home. If you’d rather leave it with Gemma to take back to her studio to dry that can be arranged. Then shipping to you can be made after the event.

“I had such a wonderful day at the “Wearable Waves” workshop. It was the most fantastic combination of relaxing yoga, followed by fun-filled creative time painting on fabric. I honestly never wanted the day to end! Gemma is a fantastic, encouraging teacher and managed to patiently teach us the techniques needed to create a wave painting on our clothing item. Anyone from beginner to advanced artists would enjoy this chance to get creative in a unique way!I have come away from this workshop feeling relaxed, inspired and I also have the coolest denim ‘wave’ jacket ever!”
