Flow & Create

at Ugly Butterfly

Join Gemma for a day of relaxation and creative flow at the stunning setting of the Ugly Butterfly Restaurant in Carbis Bay, Cornwall.

Starting with a gentle yoga flow with Julia Poole, from Oceanlight Yoga, we will be guided to quieten the busy mind allowing us to tap into our creativity. Then following a brunch bowl supplied by the Ugly Butterfly team, allow Gemma to guide you through transforming an old piece of clothing into wearable wave art. It can be a denim jacket, hoody or tote bag as long as it fabric and a light colour!

We will end the time together with refreshments from Pentire Drinks and a walk and beach clean using equipment from Gemma’s friends at Waterhaul. Sea swim also available for those who fancy diving in! I know I will 😉

There may also be a little goody bag for you to take away!

Flow & Create at Ugly Butterfly

Julia’s beautiful slow flow yoga is truly nourishing, and will get us all in the creative zone for our painting session. Here’s a little summary from Julia on her session for the day:

“This soulful, freeing session will reconnect all parts of you so that you arrive into the moment, into the glorious day ahead with a sense of peace and possibility radiating out of you! Together we will move and breathe through gentle yet expansive and nourishing movement, designed to calm the mind, bring warmth to your heart and energy to your creative centre. Free from striving or trying to make our body do things, we will explore the inner landscape of our felt sensations. Options will be given so everyone can participate in a way that feels delicious. This beautiful session has been crafted specially for Gemma’s day of creative expression. It will leave you refreshed, tuned in and ready to absorb Gemma’s teaching and release your own inner artist.

For the painting workshop please bring a denim jacket, hoody or tote bag to work on - most people have something in the wardrobe that can be transformed, but if you don’t you could support a local charity shop, vintage store or purchase one secondhand on a resale site like Vinted. The idea here is to upcycle and re-use something old rather than buy new. If you do bring a hoody or tote bag please ensure they are a light colour.

Gemma will be providing all other materials and equipment, including an apron but please do bring/wear clothing that you don’t mind potentially getting some paint on.

Top Tip - Your garment may still be wet when leaving the venue, so it might be a good idea to bring along a coat hanger or something you can lay it on in your car for easy transfer home. If you’d rather leave it with Gemma to take back to her studio to dry that can be arranged. Then shipping to you can be made after the event.
