The Art of Being

At Work

A 90-minute creative wellbeing experience for teams

Most of us move through the workday in a constant state of doing — jumping between tasks, screens and conversations without ever taking a real breath. The Art of Being at Work gives your team a moment to slow down, reset, and reconnect to their creativity in a way that feels grounding, tactile, and surprisingly calming… even for people who don’t see themselves as “creative.”

This session is designed to help people think more clearly, feel more centred, and return to work with a calmer, more focused mindset. It also fits seamlessly into wellbeing weeks, leadership development days, team off-sites and company retreats.

A group of women participating in a painting class, seated at a long table, with painting palettes and brushes, in an indoor studio with white walls and framed artwork.

What your team will gain:

  • A true mental reset

  • Improved focus and clarity

  • A calmer, more regulated nervous system

  • Reconnection to creativity (in a non-intimidating way)

  • Greater self-awareness and emotional resilience

  • A shared, meaningful team experience outside the usual routine

  • A physical artwork that acts as a reminder to pause, breathe and reset

This is practical, grounded wellbeing, not something that disappears the moment the session ends.

What the session involves:

1. Sensory grounding

I set the space with beautiful, calming materials; carefully curated fabrics, repurposed textiles, and organic textures. This gently shifts people out of “work mode” and into a more present, open state.

2. Tactile sorting and cutting

Participants spend time choosing, feeling and cutting these materials.
This simple, sensory process creates an almost ASMR-like reset:

  • the mind slows,

  • the nervous system softens,

  • and the pressure to constantly “perform” at work melts away.

3. Creating a small artwork

Using their selected textures, each person builds a 15 × 15 cm artwork on canvas.
There’s no skill needed, it’s about intuition, slowing down, and exploring a different way of thinking.
Everyone leaves with a small, meaningful piece they can take back to their desk or home.

4. Reflection and integration

We finish with a gentle reflection on what the process revealed, how creativity supports stress regulation, clearer thinking and problem-solving, and why making space to pause can shift the way we work.

The materials we use in the session are the same tactile fabrics and repurposed textures I work with in my own practice — chosen for their calming, grounding qualities — but the focus is on the process, not creating a specific style of artwork.
